Remembrance of 9-11

This is a very sad day for America.   Our world fell apart as the terrorist flew the planes into the Twin Towers and the Pentagon.  Many lives were lost that day.  To those family members and friends, we will never forget.  We are proud of our country and will continue to support the United States.

Do you remember what you were doing when the news came?  I remember it well.  As I sat comfortably in a recliner, I received a page from Emergency Management of the terrible act.  I immediately turned the TV on.  As with most of the country, I was shocked and felt like I was watching a horrible movie.  I could not leave the TV.  I can not describe all the thoughts going through my mind…

As time went on, it became worse.  First one tower fell, then the other.  So many people trying to help, trying to escape, trying to survive the terrible ordeal.  People looking for their friends and loved ones.  Those pictures will remain in my mind always.

Not being able to be on the scene to help, I made red, white and blue ribbons to wear, along with streamers for the vehicles.  A few days later, I was fortunate to encounter a police officer who was going to New York.  He gladly took ribbons I had made with him to show our support.  These, he passed out to other officers in New York and anyone who wanted them.  It wasn’t much, but I felt the need to do something.

On this anniversary, we do and we will stand behind our country.  We will not forgot the lives lost nor the suffering.

In God We Trust.
